The Shippensburg Community Resource Coalition’s (SCRC) Hound Packs Program serves food-insecure students in the Shippensburg Area School District by providing a bag of 7 meals over the weekend (https://www.shipresources.org/hound-packs-program). The program is highly dependent on plastics, including plastic grocery bags. This project will focus on assessing the program as is and then research alternatives and even funding sources/sponsors to make it more environmentally based. It would be appropriate for a one-semester research project and students may be eligible for an hourly stipend as a CLUS fellow.
